Company’s Social Presence

Below are the company’s social media channels you may want to have a look at.

Services

Let’s take a look the company’s services.

Precious Metals IRA

Most investors see great benefit in diversification and hedging their retirement savings with alternative assets like gold and silver. The company offers precious metal IRA for investors who want to invest from the money in their retirement accounts.

Things to do to make a rollover with Scottsdale is very straightforward.

Open a self-directed IRA with a custodian, fund it and add your metals to your IRA. It is that simple.

From these steps, the only funding part may seem a bit complicated. However, working with your precious metals advisor, and IRA liaison you should be able to complete your rollover in 1 to 3 weeks.

What is the minimum required investment amount with SBC Gold?

The Scottsdale Bullion sets the minimum required investment for IRA rollovers to be $10,000 and for cash deals that are set at $5,000. The company has a FAQ page where you can find more information.

Can you invest from any employer retirement account?

Generally, individuals can invest from their existing IRA, TSP, 401K, or 403B to precious metals without any issues.

Although most retirement plans allow the rollover some employer-offered retirement plans don’t allow it. You should talk to a precious metals advisor in order to determine the eligibility of your account.

Is Scottsdale Bullion acts as a custodian?

No, Scottsdale is not the custodian of your new account. Instead, the company introduces you to third-party custodians based on your needs.

Once you've set up your account, Scottsdale Bullion & Coin will help with your IRA rollovers/transfers to fund your new account(s). They can also educate and assist you in selecting a combination of precious metals to suit your retirement account needs.

Purchase of Precious Metals

Scottsdale Bullion & Coin offers investment-grade coins for sale to clients. So if you are looking to purchase precious metals for your IRA, you can approach Scottsdale Bullion & Coin for your bullion, numismatic, and semi-numismatic coins.

Sales of Precious Metals

If you are also looking to sell your precious metals, Scottsdale Bullion & Coin has the right market. They buy bullion coins, bullion bars, rare coins, and junk silver. The process of selling to them is quite simple.

You call SBC to set up a free appraisal. Their experts carry out the evaluation and inform you of the pricing. If the price works for you, you can get a direct deposit payment.

Important to mention Scottsdale Bullion & Coin doesn’t buy scrap gold, scrap silver, jewelry, hobby coins, collector bill, diamonds, watches, and other collectibles.

Payments & Shipping

Scottsdale Bullion company website does not list their accepted payment methods. However, most bullion dealers today accept bank wire, personal check, postal money order, credit/debit card, e-check, PayPal and even bitcoin.

Talk to a Scottsdale representative for their accepted payment methods prior to a purchase.

Educational Services

There is an investing 101 section on the company website which helps individuals who are looking to learn more about investing in general as well as precious metals industry.

I recommend checking out their Glossary page because it can be a very beneficial resource for new investors to learn the terminology and the most commonly used terms.

They also organize events from time to time investors can follow up with through this page.

Oh, I was almost forgetting this one. Scottsdale Bullion also offers a free guide like every other gold investment company in the market. I don’t have the guide but you may want to download from the company website in exchange of your name and contact information.

The guide will probably not make you an educated gold investor. Yet, you can learn more about the company’s product or services much more in detail.

Ratings

Now we know what Scottsdale Bullion & Coin offers its clients. Let’s go on to learn of their ratings and what former customers think of them.

  • BCA Rating: Not Listed
  • TrustLinkNot Rated
  • Trustpilot: Not Listed

It’s no surprise that a company with a mission like Scottsdale Bullion & Coin has a rating of A+ with the Better Business Bureau. But then, their low number of reviews doesn’t support their long years in the business.

Pros and Cons

So, are you planning on doing business with Scottsdale Bullion & Coin? Well, there is one last thing. And that is to weigh their pros and cons to be sure you will be comfortable dealing with them.

👍 Pros

  • Offers assistance with precious metals IRA
  • Offers a liquidation outlet to clients
  • Offers a wide selection of coins

👎 Cons

  • There seems to be a focus on numismatics.
  • They appear to have no bullion bars in stock.
  • They offer only investment-grade coins.
  • No physical delivery of metals

Conclusion

I see Scottsdale Bullion & Coin as a dedicated company as they know what they are in the industry for. However, the company website really doesn’t provide much information about their services.

The FAQ section only responds to a few questions and that is it. It may be a marketing strategy they may be wanting the client to call them to learn about their terms of services.

However, in the age of the digital era, I would expect the company to provide more information about the services they are executing, and more importantly how these services could work for the customer.

Also, the company seems to focus on numismatics coins rather than IRA rollovers or bullion products.

And considering you can’t buy and get your metals shipped to your front door seems to be a little unpractical for the customers.

Finally, always look at other alternatives before making any investment decisions, as there are always companies who can come up with a much better quality of services.
